Recognized twice as Banco BV’s Best Technology Partner, the CWI team delivered another high-impact solution that contributes to the bank’s growth.
Following the principles of our Strategic Software Engineering approach, we developed a robot to replace an older system. The new solution is more resilient and higher-performing than its predecessor.
Learn about our challenges in this project and the team that was created to meet them!
Challenge: Big-Bang Go-Live
The robot autonomously handles quote negotiations, though it is continuously monitored by traders. If they identify any suspicious or suboptimal activity, they can turn it off. Thus, the technology supports daily operations without replacing the expertise of experienced professionals.
Due to the magnitude of the tool, deployment couldn’t be phased, so the go-live followed a big-bang approach. This characteristic added another layer of complexity to the project, especially since certain behaviors could only be observed once the system was in production.
The challenge was significant, but we managed to overcome it without disrupting operations—and in less time than typically required for projects of this nature.

Senior Team Delivers in Half the Expected Time
In this short timeframe, we deepened our expertise in the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol, which enables high-speed, low-latency communications. Thanks to our ongoing partnership with the bank, we were able to assign CWI professionals who already knew BV’s processes, reducing the learning curve. The lean squad was composed of senior front-end, back-end, and quality assurance professionals.
When modernizing the legacy pricing platform, the team combined flexibility and commitment to delivering value to build a tailor-made solution. Overcoming the challenge was a collaborative effort that required research, continuous learning, and close interaction with the client.

Benefits for Banco BV
- Direct revenue impact: the new robot is faster than its predecessor, which is critical since the sale often goes to the first responder—not necessarily the one offering the lowest price;
- Infrastructure savings, both in hardware and through the elimination of the third-party tool license, which is no longer needed;
- Restored ability to maintain and enhance the system, which was no longer possible with the previous technology.
