Engineering for Card Settlement Bank Services

CWI is both a partner and a leading force in a service that handles transactions from major market players.

BV’s Card Settlement Bank service relies on CWI’s leadership in modernizing, maintaining, evolving, and supporting its process. This is another result of the partnership between the companies, which began in 2018 and has been strengthened by consistent work, steadily building the trust of one of Brazil’s largest private banks.

The development stream for this area includes processing clearing and settlement information for card transactions within the Card Settlement System of the Interbank Payments Chamber, Núclea — which is also a CWI partner.

Cloud Modernization

BV bank’s B2B service for fintechs and banking-as-a-service companies creates immense responsibility on the teams supporting this operation. This process involves several major players in the financial market.

Due to the diversity of its clients, the business complexity of this service is equally broad. Furthermore, CWI contributes by ensuring operational efficiency, which relies on the multiple partners involved from the moment a consumer swipes their card at a merchant to the final settlement.

The steady growth in the number of CWI professionals working with BV is testament to the quality of the work performed so far. The pipeline related to the Card Settlement Bank, while extremely critical, is considered stable, even though it often requires adjustments due to new Central Bank guidelines.

Operation Context

The project prompted a need for cloud modernization, with CWI once again playing a leading role. Resources were migrated from BV’s on-premise servers to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The team also contributed to batch processing, messaging, and the modernization of operational screens and dashboards.
